Father’s Day is a special day for this 90-Year Norfolk Business

Borsalino-1857

A “Stark & Legum” classic

Stark & Legum haberdasheries sell well known brands of men’s apparel, including designer hats in Norfolk, Virginia. It was established in 1924 and was transformed over the years into an authentic, haberdashery -men’s apparel and accessories- offering high-end clothing that one cannot find in any other regular men clothing stores.

Having more than 90+ years of experience, they take pride in supplying quality apparel and expert personal style service. As the “hat-quarters” for head-wear, their fashion professionals offer thoughtful service, which ensures a unique outfit provision from head to toes in the proper apparel for any occasion in their store at 739 Granby Street in the NEON district.

Sonny Legum, the son and nephew of the original founders, retired after 65 years as president of the haberdashery. Sonny saw great potential in Michael J. Benton, his senior manager and merchant, so he spent 15 years mentoring him and teaching him the secrets of the business. That is because he wants him to pass on the legacy of serving the well-dressed man. Michael Benton, and his brother Dr. Harrison Benton, have plans to build on the store’s already superb collection and taste and are looking forward to serving the next generation of men that are looking for exceptional service and fine apparel.

Since Father’s Day is around the corner, Stark & Legum is looking forward to showcasing their unique inventory to the generations of fathers and sons, and the people that love to shop for them, that appreciate the taste and touch of a classic haberdashery.“Every generation defines their style, but their professional wardrobes are built with the classic fine apparel and head wear we specialize in. Stark and Legum is a real haberdashery. We dress you from toe to chapeau with expert service and impeccable style that will have you looking your best, be it casual or after six (formal),” said Mike Benton.
