This FAQ is designed for tenants impacted by the upcoming closure of MacArthur Center. Our goal is to ensure a seamless closing and transition for our tenants by providing essential information and resources. We remain committed to supporting you throughout the process.
Closing Information
When will the center close?
- MacArthur Center Mall will close and cease operations on June 27, 2026 close of business day.
How much time will we have to move after closing?
- While the mall will cease operations on June 27, 2026, we will provide access to the mall for business owners and managers through midnight, July 14, 2026 for moving, storage, and cleaning accommodations. The premises must be vacated and left broom clean by midnight on July 14, 2026.
Tenant Support & Assistance
Will any relocation support be provided?
- You will have a designated contact within the Department of Economic Development Real Estate team who can assist in finding other available properties in the City of Norfolk.
Are there any available locations in the city for relocation?
- In addition to assistance from the Economic Development Real Estate team, we will provide a list of brokers and/or property managers who can share information on available properties in the area.
When will security deposits be returned?
- Security deposit return procedures will be handled according to lease agreements. Based on one-on-one conversations with mall management, expedited security deposit returns will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Once construction is completed, will there be an opportunity to return?
- Opportunities to lease space in the new development will be determined by the developer.
