Funding your company”- August 12

This workshop explores what it takes to fund or capitalize an early stage company. We will discuss how to set requirements, identify sources of capital, and what it takes to raise the money.

“Pitching vs Closing: The Ted Talk Model”- August 19

The presentation explores how to pitch your company to critical audiences including: investors, clients, customers, partners, suppliers, shareholders, and employees. From short encounters to formal presentations this workshop helps you get your thoughts and ideas out there effectively.

“What Start-ups Really Need”- August 26

This session helps you identify the critical requirements to succeed. We will explore what early stage companies need, when they need it, and how to get what they need.

“Capital Investors and Exit Strategies”- September 3

Every investor’s main objective is to profit from their capital funding of your company. This workshop explores your business strategy from the investor perspective and provides insight into the best “exits” for your type enterprise.

“Investor Friendly Business Plans”- September 9

Your “B-Plan” should be specific and supported but flexible, and investors need to be able to see what you do, why it’s good, and what it’s worth in a simple plan. This workshop explores what goes into a good B-Plan for investors and why.

“Pro-Forma Financial Statements”- September 16

Most successful businesses start out with a five year projection of their financial future. This session focuses on how to develop compelling and believable pro-forma financial statements.

“Valuations in Simple Terms”- September 23

Determining what your enterprise is worth is central to determining the justification for spending the “blood, sweat, and tears” of birthing a new company. This workshop walks through the foundational elements that capital markets use to quantify worth in early stage companies.

“Ownership, Control and Capital Raises”- September 30

This session will help you understand the ramifications of selling equity stake in your company, and how to maintain operational control in early rounds. We will work on capital requirements and terms of an equity or debt deal.

“Revenue Reality: Believable Projections”- October 7

Projecting revenue over the first two years is central to mapping success in an early stage company. This session works through your path to revenue from market entry to sustainable revenue streams.

“Market Strategy Development”- October 14

This session helps you develop a strategy for taking your products and/or services to market eventually capturing meaningful market share. We will define ways to target the most promising sectors and ways to prioritize the best promotional strategies.

“Capital Raising”- October 21

The hardest thing for every entrepreneur, regardless of industry, is to raise sufficient capital to give the enterprise a chance. We will explore approaches to raising capital in this seminar with investors in the room.

“Closing Investment Rounds”- October 28

Getting through due diligence and closing on a term sheet is challenging. We will discuss each stage of the process and the characteristics of successful closings in this vibrant seminar workshop.
