Plastic litter threatens the environment, our health, and business in coastal settings like Norfolk. Not only is it unsightly, but it also creates flooding issues and is a danger to our ecosystem. A spike in using single-use plastics, increases in take-out meals and more disposables due to the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this threat. Keep Norfolk Beautiful (KNB) is reaching out to Norfolk businesses to help beautify and protect our city with KNB’s Green Bucket Brigade.

Businesses can adopt a green bucket litter kit to keep curbsides, parking lots, and sidewalk spaces clean. The kit includes a 5-gallon bucket filled with a litter grabber, trash bags, hand sanitizer, gloves, and bags. KNB provides all the supplies a business needs to keep their property litter-free and encourage your customers to do the same.

Together, we can stop litter at its source with proper waste disposal and decrease overflowing bins and dumpsters. By maintaining clean spaces, we create a positive image and a safe place to work and play!
