Norfolk Continues to Add New Housing

In 2013, appoximately $170 million in residential projects are underway with nearly 1,000 new housing units. The nature of Norfolk’s apartment market has changed drastically over the past few years, as several new residential developments reached completion. The Belmont at Freemason, 201 at Twenty-one, and River House Apartments added almost seven hundred new apartment units, and the District at ODU added over 300 additional units (and room for nearly 1,000 college students).

Promenade Pointe

Construction of this $30 million apartment community is underway. This waterfront development off Tidewater Drive is by Bonaventure, LLC, and will feature 187 dwelling units.

The Wainwright Downtown

A $26 million conversion of the historic Wainwright building. The nine-story, 83-year-old medical office tower at 229 West Bute Street has been converted to a 126-unit apartment complex with a rooftop dog-walking area, putting green and pool.

416small This $12 million Downtown residential project will include 71 apartments and 55 parking spaces, and will feature a pool, fitness center, and two outdoor terraces/gardens.





401 Granby

401_450This $12 million mixed use project will include 65 apartment units and 2,100 square feet of retail space. Amenities include a clubhouse, billiards room, office center, and outdoor terrace/garden.









East Beach Marina Apartments

Element at Ghent
