Getting your goods and services to foreign markets is about to get a little easier.  The Norfolk Department of Economic Development has partnered with the Hampton Roads Alliance and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to present a regional export webinar. This virtual event will be on Wednesday, September 8th at 9:00AM.

Experts will be on hand to talk about access to working capital, the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) funds, and many other export programs and services for local businesses interested in getting started in exporting.

Program highlights will include the Export Working Capital Program (EWCP) loan, which offers advances to fund export transactions, has a low guaranty fee, and a quick processing time. Most U.S. banks view loans for exporters as risky, so SBA created this program to make it easier for U.S. small businesses to get export loans.

In addition to EWCP, the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) offers financial awards to help small businesses with export advancement. It helps small businesses export by offering grants to cover costs associated with entering and expanding into international markets.

Representatives from Norfolk Development, the Hampton Roads Alliance, and the SBA will be on hand to help you chart  your businesses’ course to expansion into global markets. Click here to register.

And, that’s not all.  We have recently launched Export Portal, where all of our program and partner information are in one spot.
